Simpler Times

Luxurious anguish of body and mind

consumed by a terrible desirelessness

a terrible lacking

we lie along earths dark breast

where your breathe

staggers back in whispers

and rue for vanished days

once conscious of chalked blue sky dragging

mulberry trees in the dim

whose fraying weeping

limbs crack in the heat

before their swept bare

in relief trace the palm of callused hands

to your forgotten garden grove
